All you should know before taking a Full body check-up

August 27, 2022

A periodic full body check-up should be done at least once in 6-12 months to ensure that you are keeping yourself immune to and avoiding any forthcoming medical issues.

1.      Prior to your check-up, get adequate sleep, at least six hours. It is possible to experience irregular heartbeat or blood pressure due to lack of sleep.

2.      Fast for at least 10 hours before the check-up. Food intake can alter blood sugar and cholesterol test results. However, water can be freely consumed to prevent dehydration. You may prefer to take an early light dinner and schedule your test for the next morning.

3.      Alcohol consumption should be avoided at least 24 hours before the check-up, as some tests will be affected by it.

4.      Consuming foods that are high in salt and fat might cause the blood sugar level to fluctuate, which may affect the test results. Therefore, it is always advised to stay away from certain types of meals before testing.

5.      Weightlifting, as well as cardio exercises, increases the blood flow, heartbeat rate, and pulse rate of the human body.

6.      Use of fragrances, deodorants, powder, or creams beneath the arms or around the chest should be avoided if you are getting a mammogram since they may interfere with the test's accuracy.

7.      If you are suffering from any disease/ condition, please carry your previous test results or medical reports with you.

8.      It is best to wear comfortable, loose clothes that allow access to your upper arms, which is often where the blood sample is collected for a full body check-up.

9.      Drink plenty of water before the ultrasound if one has been arranged for you. The ultrasonic waves have a favorable path through a full bladder.

10.   It is recommended to steer clear of X-ray exams when pregnant to protect the well-being of the youngster growing inside female wombs. The development of the embryo in the womb can be hampered by the extremely potent X-Rays.
